I actually find that many of Torrid's clothes are cut really well for plus size. But the fabrics are too junior (too many skulls and plaid) for anyone over 25. I still find a piece or two each season that's on trend and not too junior for an adult with a job. But, I always feel like I should be shopping for my non-existent daughter when I'm in a Torrid store. (Thank goodness for Internet shopping!)

I don't find Torrid's clothes fit well. Maybe it's because I'm on the short side (5'4"), but I have a heck of a time finding anything that fits. I am not their target demographic, at 33, so even when I occassionally find something cute (they had a cute pink trench a while back that I loved), I skip it. As for the Santa boots, I'm speechless.

I'm 25 and I love pink skulls (but yea I've been told I have the taste of a 10 year old--hello kitty and anything pink? heck yea!)but I am pretty fed up with Torrid. I've been shopping there for about 6 years and about 2 or 3 years ago their prices went up while the quality of clothing went down.

I'm guessing they buy their designs from the kind of crappy place where they make a plus size item by tracing over skinny clothes and just making it bigger. There's not a whole lot of variety for different body shapes. And most of the time the fabric is so thin that it either stains or tears after a minute or two of wear.

I still buy the brand names that I know and trust but anything with Torrid brand is almost guaranteed to be a miss, particularly if like me, the closest Torrid store is 3 states away. Last summer I bought a peasant blouse online with what appeared to be an embroidered front and was really --with no indication in the product description-- geometrically shaped holed burned out of the boob and tummy area. Who would want that?

Ugh... I totally agree with the other posters. Too "junior" and too expensive for the crappy pieces they offer. And their quality has gone wayyyy down in the last couple of years. What the hell happened to Torrid? It's so disappointing. I only buy when they have 50% off clearance sales. I'm much better off shopping elsewhere 95% of the time.

I'm pretty sure those boots aren't meant for Mrs. Claus.

I have to be the voice of dissent here....I'm 30, and I love me some Torrid. Where else can I get pink skull socks to wear with my boring office outfits, while also supporting my completely irrational pseudo-punk-rock weekend wardrobe aspirations?

As for these *crazy* Santa boots....well, if I could find a way to pull off the fur part after the holidays, I would totally get them. If not, I'd have to pass. Unless they were on clearance for really super cheap.

Since I can't wear high heels, I couldn't even do those boots. But with a sexy red dress, it would be a cute outfit for a non-traditional Christmas party or a private party with your S.O.

I've been in a Torrid once. Many of the things were too trendy and costly for my taste. My style is more conservative. Of course, I'm 32, so that may have something to do with it. If I was 17, my attitude may be different. Also, they really need to get away from skulls and plaid and get more variety in their designs. Those things are starting to go out.

when torrid gets it right, they really get it right....but usually they get it wrong. their fit is generally not for me and my shape, but it's the poor quality, high prices, and lack of good sales/coupons that make me skip it most of the time. I love that torrid exists, though, I really do.

I used to love Torrid, about 4 years ago. The pieces I have that I got from there fit very well for me. But their prices lately are out of control and I'm sick of the emails about a sale and get over there and that ugly, cheap, did I say ugly, placed on the wrong body type model, mess is priced way too high. I can find cheaper stuff that doesn't make me look like I'm 16 (I'm 31). I'm an Avenue girl, Jessica London, Target, Amazon, and a few spots on Ebay if I want to shop online. The main thing for me is price then I think about how stupid I will look in a design.

the one thing that keeps me coming back over and over again to torrid is their stretch cotton v-neck camisoles. i agree that the prices are way too high, but i only buy things when they have their extra 50% off the clearance price sales online, then pick up the solid color camis for around 5 or 6 dollars. I like them because they are long enough for me (i'm 5'11") and great for layering year round. everything else i've ever bought there didn't fit right, but i do like some of the accessories- i got a pretty awesome mexican sugar skull wallet there.

Part of me wishes I had the outfit that goes with those boots.

Yowza!
