I went to my little niece's third birthday party last weekend and at some point, my sister forced me into a picture with my parents and grandmother. Well, maybe forced is the wrong word. I was standing there and she took a picture. Anyway, I just saw the picture and this was my internal dialogue:
"Hey, I don't look as big as I thought! Wait.. is it bad for me to think that? Maybe I don't look as big because of the way I'm standing. I should write a post about how I don't look as big as I thought I do in pictures. Why do I always avoid taking pictures? I'm not photogenic but there's like, no photographic evidence of my existence. That's sad. Ok, I'll crop the family out and post the picture! Wait. My not so fat is someone else's omg fat. I don't want to be someone else's omg fat. Ok, no picture."

We all love Etsy, we're all addicted, we all need a 12 step recovery program. I could browse through the listings all day and never run out of cool stuff to covet. To me, Etsy signifies everything that's wonderful about the internet and I'm more than happy to hand over money to the artists that sell their wares there. Let's see what I've bought recently.
Brown and cream ponytail holders from cutecumber. A fun little treat at $3.50. I tie my hair back a lot and wanted something cute to perk things up and these are perfect. I use a regular, black hair elastic for the actual hair holding and then wrap these around to cover it up. The seller has tons of cute hair accessories just like this.
Oui Bird and Tender Pear necklaces from birdzNbeez. Ok, yes, I seek out pear stuff because I'm just that narcissistic but come on, it's cute! I love the little birdies and overall vintage feel of both pieces.
Wine Tasting Weekend Bag from Paco and Lupe. I don't normally drop $110 on handbags but I knew that if I didn't buy this bag, I'd regret it. So I bought it and I'm glad I did because I love it. It's even better in person and I plan to carry it forever and ever.
I don't know what it is about this time of year but it's a lot like the middle of winter, at least in terms of fashion. All of the new stuff for summer is already out and it's still too early to think about fall. Frankly, I'm bored.
There's also the fact that I've looked at pretty much every plus size clothing website on the internet and it's just all so uninspiring. I want new, fresh, exciting! I'm sick of seeing the same styles over and over. Nearly all of the major players in the plus size game are guilty of regurgitating the same stuff they have been for the last few seasons, just in different colors and patterns. Boring!
I've been thinking about which site/product I want to cover for the next Try it On post and I can't think of anything I'm willing to spend money on reviewing. If you have any suggestions, let me know. But it better be exciting 'cause I'm bored to death over here.
