Flirty skirts from Lane Bryant

I'm seeing so many cute skirts popping up right now and Lane Bryant has several that I really like. All of these are made from crisp cotton and can be dressed up for work with heels or dressed down with casual flats or sandals for the weekend. I'd wear any of these with a simple top to let the pattern on the skirt be the focal point.

I read somewhere that dot prints are "out" this spring but screw that, this is a cute print! The seaming creates a flouncy look that can balance out your top half if you're busty and skim over your hips and emphasize the waist. If you're trying to create an hourglass shape, look for a skirt that draws the eye out a little at the hem.

What's springier than flowers? I'm generally not into frou frou floral but I like the bold colors in this print. It's pretty and feminine without being too over the top. The ivory background is fresh and flattering on more skin tones than stark white. The cut is very similar to the previous skirt above.

This one is my favorite because I'm in love with the print. If you click through and view the close up, the black floral is layered over a subtle white on gray dot print. This skirt also has the seaming for flair and the solid hem will balance out your waist and hips even more. I think this would be adorable with a simple, rosy pink top and silver sandals.

I love the concept of a cool cotton skirt, but can't wear them-- they lose their shape once I'm wearing them, they tend to flare out a little too much and don't fall "right" on me. Maybe I've got too much junk in the trunk, not sure. They just kinda hang out at all the wrong spots, and aren't very flattering for me. Same goes for cotton dresses, as soon as I've sat in one for more than an hour, it loses its shape.

I have to recommend this dress to absolutely everyone. It looks like nothing on the hangar, and it doesn't even look that great on this model, but this dress is DARLING. It A-lines out perfectly, it skims over all my problem areas, the sleeve length is perfect, and it could not be more comfortable. Smocked waist shirt dress. Try it on, everyone! Try, try!

ZOMG. That blue dot print looks very close to a print skirt I got at Talbot's about four years ago - it was in denim, but the colors are just about identical in the print. Cool - my other one is starting to look the worse for wear.

Talbot's is also an amazing place to find little light skirts in cute patterns.

Inz, that dress looks adorable, too.

It really is, I can't recommend it enough! They had black in the store, too. I bought it in black and the teal color.

Inz, I tried that dress, but my waist was way too short, and it looked very odd on me. I still found about four outrageously cute tops, so it wasn't a total waste. ;D

I think it works better on rectangles with longer waists, hourglasses or pears. It is still a nice fabric and very cute, so I'm glad it worked for you!

I just bought that blue-dotted skirt last week, and I'm eagerly anticipating its arrival in the mail. It looks so fun and springy!
