Given that it looks like it's puckering oddly around the bust even on the dress form, I don't think it and my D-cups would get along very well. Which is a shame, because I think it's cute. It might make me look pregnant with the empire-waist gathers, though. Not that there's anything wrong with being pregnant, but I'm going to see my parents soon and wouldn't want them asking awkward questions! I'm not so sure about the neck ruffle either, it's slightly odd. But if I saw this in a store in a color that caught my eye, I'd at least try it on.

I'm with Gretchen. With the gathering at the bust it seems to just scream, "Please look at my boobs!" Not that I'm -always- against people looking, but when I cover up the intention is usually to avoid it. I think the color is pretty, though, and the sleeves are cute. I, too, would probably at least try it on.

I'm sorry, but it looks like a top my mother wore when she was pregnant with my little brother. He was born in 1977.

I think maybe there's a little bit too much going on? Empire waist w/gathers, plus pintucks, plus buttons, PLUS ruffles. I think I would like it with even one less element. Probably without the gathery empire waist, which makes it look really 4-year-old or mom-to-be. I would like to see it as a button-up shirt with the pintucks all the way down.

That said, I know there is *someone* out there who could just totally rock it & make me change my mind.

I was just in the mall this afternoon with a thin friend and I never even really look at the non-plus shops, but today she was looking for an outfit and -- omg, chunky knits, eyelets and pleats EVERYWHERE. I felt like I was stuck in a nightmare from the late 70's/early 80's.

Like Laura, I know this would look great on some, and if it's your style, go for it -- it's apparently totally in right now. But no way for me.

I think it's cute, but a little too 50's for my taste. And what's up with that neckline? I need some v-neck action.

I love it! But then, I love all things pink, frilly, and retro. I actually don't think it would work over my boobs, and I don't shop at Old Navy since they decided to screw plus size customers anyway, but in THEORY, I'm in the "love it" camp.

I like it, it reminds me of "Marian, the librarian" and I adore those old fashioned dresses. Not in pink for me though; I'm a redhead and pink clashes unless it has a real peachy cast. Plus, I've got a moderate chest, so a little emphasis there is rather nice. If they had it in an ivory or a foresty green that'd be cool.

I really like everything about it except for the sleeves. It's almost sleeveless and I hate showing off my upper arms.

I love it but I don't think my DDs would.

Hate it, hate it, hate it. Would not wear it to a dogfight. See, here's the thing: As a big girl, I know that there are people who are going to think less of me on sight. So I choose clothing that makes me look smarter, more professional, sexier. Even on the dummy this top looks wimpy, fussy, dowdy, plain, like the awkward new girl in class who doesn't quite get it. Not the look I'm going for.

Sorry, wouldn't wear it. I have a funny feeling that it would look hideous on my DDD boobs. Everyting screams "Look at my boobs, look at my boobs!" and I have trouble getting people to look above my collar bones anyway. Also, I think I may have owned that blouse when I was about 10, and as a general rule, if mom put it on me when I was a kid, I won't wear it now.

It looks more like an Easter dress for one of my toddlers than something I would wear.

Well, other than the fact that it's basically sleeveless - I wouldn't put either of my girls in a sleeveless Easter dress!

Then again...I did just go look back up there...maybe with a sweater and a pencil skirt you could go all retro-sexy style.

It's the kind of thing I'd be totally excited about trying on, thinking I'd love it, and then I'd be standing there in it feeling all ruffly and frilly and realize it's not me at all.

I couldn't make it work on my big big bust either, I don't think. Especially with the high collar. But if you *were* to go for it, I'd style it with straight leg black pants (Dickies type) and pointy toe flats in white or black. I might throw on a studded belt (Torrid, anyone?) and a little cardigan or shrug in a WHAM color like cobalt or lime. Bonus for cuff bracelets on one arm. Basically, I'd new-wave or punk it out a bit to contrast with the ubergirliness of the top.

As a small-chested, big-bellied girl I think the cut would work for me, however I avoid sleeveless as well. I thought of wearing a cardigan over it, but if you do that you're covering up a lot of that detail so what's the point? Also the styling could backfire and create the pregnant look, especially since it's so....pink.

Thanks for the Laugh. From the other side (guy side)I think it's nice looking. Guess this is why Wife buys her own clothes?

Interesting to read all the comments! I'm with the big-boobed ladies, I don't think my HH's would be flattered in that blouse!

I like this post concept though - post more clothes/outfits for discussion, it's fun!

By the way Colleen, you answered my question on how to get colour in my wardrobe - I'm making progress slowly but surely!

I've added white, red and grey to my black wardrobe, black is still the basis, but I'm enjoying the added colour!

I know ruffles are totally in this season but it doesn't do anything for me. I think the neckline would drive me loopy or homicidal by the end of the day. The color is nice though. :)

I would totally wear that under a jacket in the spring. I don't do sleeveless very much except for then - I need jacket for the AM, but I don't want anything heavy under it when it gets warmer.
