Alright, spring is still pretty far off and it's cold and dreary and just BLAH. So, let's look at some springy shoes from Avenue and dream of warm, sunny days to come. *cue chirping birds sound effect*
Gemini Leather Ballet Wedge
I love flats but sometimes flat is too flat and it's basically like walking barefoot. That's fine if you're just running to the store or won't be on your feet long but in reality, it's not great for your feet. These cuties are a cross between a ballet flat and a wedge, and the slight heel will keep you from dragging your pants through the dirt as you frolic about in a field of flowers.
Vicky Gemstone Sandal
These are a little on the geriatric side but sometimes you have to use your imagination when it comes to footwear. I'd consider these to be a flip flop replacement. They come in three metallic shades (the pink here, gold and silver) and metallic is always big for spring and summer. They have the big gemstone that adds a little bling but doesn't venture into tacky. The straps will show off your polished toesies very nicely. And best of all, they're probably way more comfortable than a ratty pair of worn out foam flip flops. They're a little glam and damn it, I like them. I want them in pink AND silver. So there.
Toronto Nubuck Ballet Flat
I really wish my mom would wear flats like these with jeans instead of her Big White Marshmallow Sneakers. Maybe I'll get a pair for both of us and sneak them into her house. Anyway, if you want to replace your Big White Marshmallow Sneakers with something that's still sporty, go with an athletic inspired flat like these. They're a much more modern option and they don't make your feet look like down comforters. Plus they come in brown and pink, one of my favorite color combinations.

I LOVE Cloudwalkers! Every pair of shoes that I wear daily are Cloudwalkers. In fact, I'm wearing the Riversale Wedge Boots right now. And, I've got the Reese Leather Flats (in Red!) on my birthday list. Yay for shoes that are comfy and wide and actually FIT right every time.

SteveD, I do have some pointy toe high heel shoes (from last year) that are Cloudwalkers. And, guess what... they're super comfy!

I'm in love with the Margie Leather Sandal (http://www.avenue.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay) but unfortunately, Avenue does not ship to Canada. Drives me crazy! Same for Old Navy, no shipping to Canada AND they only sell their plus size stuff online.

I wish I could wear shoes like that. They make my feet look ridiculous. Very cute though.

I fell in love with Cloudwalkers when I got my first pair of boots this fall, the super-comfy Lake Erie boots. :)
But the new ones, eh...not my style. I'm very much a girl who wakes up and throws on whatever's clean--I manage to always look put together by cutting my hair so that all I have to do is brush it back and let it dry (or blow dry it straight back if I have an extra ten minutes) and my wardrobe is coordinated so that NOTHING clashes and I can literally throw on a pair of pants, a tank top, and a sweater/jacket/shirt and run out the door. I can be ready to go in under half an hour, even if I put on makeup. And part of that is that ALL my shoes are in neutral colours that match everything. So no, no cute red shoes or brown and pink shoes or purple shoes, because then I wouldn't be able to get dressed in the dark and still look fabulous. :(

Carla U said "I can be ready to go in under half an hour". So does your SO think it's still too long. I tend to give Wife earlier time so we can leave late and on time.
So what is it about Some Women (Wife I am talking about) having 30 or more pair of shoes.
I think I have 5 pair. 2 Boots (Winter), Couple Sandles (Berkenstock) and Loafers.
I think the PR Industry has brain washed some to think "Whoever has the most Shoes Wins"?
Ok enough from the Peanut Gallery.

That was me, not Carla. ;)
And actually, I'm currently single. I'm also the most femmy dyke on campus so the women in my dating pool probably take less time to get ready than I do. I guess it's a perk to going to a geek school; my last girlfriend could take two hours to get ready to go see a movie! xD
