Hi, I work for Lane Bryant and I have a few comments. First they are aware of the smell of the right fit jean and stores should have the non smelling ones now or soon to be. Please don't run into the store yelling at the associates demanding the jeans when that store might not have them yet. Some LB's have the Houston (black only)in the right fit as well. When we first were trained on how to size the customer it seemed cut and dry. Then when it came to trying them on is something different. Here it goes when being measured for the blue for some reason we have to go down 3 sizes. Don't understand why but we are learning and thats what we came up with. Yellow is 1 or 2 sizes down. Red is 2 to 3 down. If you like our old fit get the red. Most people can wear the reds. It's the yellow and blue that are so extreme. You can't be both. When buying your jeans you have to buy them snug!! They will stretch out. I have customers who didn't listen to me and end up returning them because they fall off them. Blue is for someone who has big hips small waist. The thighs are a little bagging. Yellows are for bigger waist, or bigger belly , no butt, small thighs or skinny legs. Red is for curvy woman with a little more room in the thigh. They will not fit so tight in the leg like the yellows. The number system 1-8 is new just like the jean itself. Who cares about the smaller numbers just get over it. The lenghts are longer now for 2% shrinkage. I have to agree with the washes not all fitting the same. WE DON"T KNOW WHY! The flares and bootcut do fit different. That's because THEY ARE DIFFERENT STYLES!!!!!! Come on ladies I don't know about you but I don't want one style top in 12 different colors. Lane Bryant feels the same way. Just because we are plus size doesn't mean we have to stick with the same thing over and over again. Try something new for once. Let that associate show you something new. I know Express and Gap ,etc change why can't we? And ladies it's not only hard for you but for us too. I know it's our job BUT we don't deserve rude behavior. If you don't have time to try them on slimply say so. Why would anyone down on something making us look and feel better about ourselves. Then again you can still buy that one top in 12 different colors. Sounds boring doesn't it? When coming in our stores come with a open mind. Leave that chip on your shoulder at ther door. Or someday that associate may come into your work place. p.s right fit size will be for all pants and tops in the future.

Cute jean, stinky smell. If LB is aware of this, why are the sales associates not mentioning this to customers before they make their purchase? I bought two different pairs of right fit jeans from two different stores and no mention from the sales associate that the jeans have an odor that may linger. I buy the jeans, take them home and figure that if I wash them, the smell will go away. After several washes the stink is still there. I'm very disappointed. I have $75 worth of jeans that I can't wear because they stink and I can't return them because I've washed them several times. Just as sales associates don't like to be yelled at, customers don't like to be scammed. Why not advertise the stink or at the very least say something, don't watch me buy something that you know is not up to par. For that matter, WHY sell something that is not up to par?? Very disappointed in LB.

I'm commenting on an outdated post here, but I just wanted to say thanks for the advice on removing the stink from my new jeans!

I've washed mine a few times already, even allowed them a good soak in the washer with fragranced detergent and they still smell ... I am trying your Febreze system next.

Interestingly, I remember noticing a similar odor in another pair of jeans I purchased a few years ago at a different plus size shop (Avenue). That pair happened to be a medium wash, not dark. The smell never went away, but it was not as strong as these LB Right Fits ... ugh ... it is irritating. When I wear them I wonder if the people near me can smell my pants!

Anyway, thanks - I googled "lane bryant jeans smell" and thankfully I found this.

I just bought these stinky pants a few weeks ago -- so obviously they are still not alerting customers that their pants have an odor problem that can't easily be removed. And yes, people CAN smell your pants, that's how gross they are! My significant other actually said, "trust me, no one gets laid wearing these jeans..."

I purchased a pair of smelly LB jeans a month ago and this is horrible!! I am washing them right now for the seventh time and yep! the smell still lingers...and it's not like these jeans are cheap, we paid $40.00. aaauuuuggghhhhh I will try the Febreze. Thank you, I hope this works.
