I am absolutely fascinated with Spanx. I've been seeing them all over the place! I've been looking for a product like the Power Panty to wear under skirts but they all have legbands that dig in, roll up, and otherwise cause mayhem. No legband in the Power Panties!
There are bandless trouser socks, reversible tights, Mama Spanx, an all hosiery bra that goes up to band size 42, pants and crops with a slimming liner and even control top fishnets. This might just inspire me to start wearing skirts more often!
Everything I've checked out goes up to size E (about 265 pounds, depending on your height) and for quality pantyhose, the prices aren't bad at all, especially if wearing them doesn't suck!
You can also purchase Spanx at Amazon.
If you've tried Spanx, please leave a comment and let me know what you think. I'd love to hear all about it!

Hi Colleen,
That Spanx product seems like an ideal to VPL.
I just want to say I love your site, it's very informational and organize into different sections, makes it great for those who aren't familiar with the stores listed.
Thanks so much for providing this information and a place for people of size to be able to openly communicate without worrying of ridicule.
I will definitely link you, I am sure I will visit this site often!! =)

I just discovered your site about a week ago, and I'm very excited about it... This entry in particular is like a dream come true... Thank you so much for this! And be sure to update us if you hear about whether or not these work!

Aw! Thank you both! I started this site because I had a growing collection of plus size links and thought "Hey I bet other girls would love to know about these sites." I'm glad you like my blog! :)

My Mom sent me some Spanx, and they're OK, but totally not worth the price. For years, I've been just cutting the bottoms off my control top pantyhose in the summer. I cut them off about 10 inches from the toe (when new), but experiment and see what works for you. And no, they don't run if you cut the feet off.
My personal favorites are NoNonsense Woman Firming Shaper pantyhose. $3.84 at Target - which is hella cheaper than the $25 Spanx.

I love the power panties, but the regular control tops ran the first time I wore them. I have the fishnets but haven't wore them. But I definitely think the power panties are worth the money.

This is the same Rebecca as above -- I was at Bloomingdales trying on potential wedding dresses and I noticed that they carried Spanx (later I noticed that Nordstrom and Macys do too), so I tried on the power panties under the dresses. Heaven. I bought a pair and I'm in love -- although I *am* a tad worried that they'll run at the waist. But thanks for the heads up. I would never have even noticed them if you hadn't just written about them!

I tried Spanx once.... it was not worth the money at all. I don't recommend them.
